Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ade Absame (ranked 24725 p4p, 289 weight class) and Joe Hooks (ranked 24604 p4p, 282 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ade Absame! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Hooks! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hooks connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Absame scores with a nice strike. Hooks misses with a low kick. Absame misses with a jab, cross combination.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hooks. That's going to slow Absame down. Absame shoots in but no luck this time. Absame just misses with a punch to the body.
Absame looks to throw the jab but Hooks is out of range. Hooks stalks Absame and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Absame's face. Absame staggers backwards, shaken. Hooks clinches up with Absame and pushes him back against the cage. I was talking to Absame's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Hooks breaks from the clinch.
Absame uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hooks. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Absame tests Hooks's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hooks connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Absame swings for the body but Hooks moves out of range.
Absame looks to land a combination but Hooks avoids it well. Hooks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Joe Hooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Absame fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hooks sprawls well initially but Absame persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hooks is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Absame throwing shots but Hooks is blocking nicely. Hooks looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hooks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Absame. Absame is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Absame is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hooks defends it well. Absame trying to control the pace. Absame is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hooks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Absame. Absame is trying to control. Hooks wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Absame passes to full mount! Absame thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Absame working for a guillotine from mount but Hooks is in no mood to give up. Absame with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Absame swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hooks is now in Absame's guard. A big mistake from Absame there, giving up the dominant position! Absame working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hooks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hooks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hooks tries to free his leg and advance position but Absame is retaining full guard. Absame is looking for a triangle but Hooks pushes his legs off easily.
Hooks showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Absame is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hooks has his hands clasped together but Absame extends and breaks Hooks's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Absame.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ade Absame! A less than humble Ade Absame misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
