Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Baba (ranked 2874 p4p, 332 weight class) and Tommy Murphy (ranked 2424 p4p, 301 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dennis Baba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Murphy! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baba swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Murphy takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Baba has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Kegerator - 550$ in the buildup to the fight. Baba jabs Murphy to the body, keeping him at a distance. Baba scores with a nice strike. A jab lands there for Baba. Baba lands a body shot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baba lands a nice shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Baba pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Baba misses with a hook
and Murphy counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A short right from Baba on the inside. Baba effectively controlling the action here. Murphy throws a knee to the head but misses.
Murphy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Murphy's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Baba lands a body shot in the clinch.
Murphy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Murphy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baba circles away. It looked like Baba wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Baba ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Murphy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Baba holds on and takes a little breather. Murphy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Baba is adopting a defensive guard. Murphy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Murphy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baba swivels though and keeps the full guard. Murphy throwing strikes from guard but Baba blocks nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy advances position into side control! Baba on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Baba tries to get out of the position. Baba takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Murphy controls the position. Murphy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Murphy trying to control the action but Baba is working from the bottom. Murphy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Baba is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dennis Baba dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Murphy drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Baba uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Murphy has time to react. Baba throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Murphy on the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baba throws a big shot that misses. Baba leaves Murphy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Baba is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Murphy can do to turn this around?

Murphy misses with a takedown and Murphy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Murphy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Baba swivels and escapes. Dennis Baba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Murphy. Baba lands with a hook. Murphy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Baba misses with a series of wild punches.

Murphy drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Baba defends it well. Baba punishes Murphy's body with a nice straight punch.

Baba lands a nice shot to the body.
Nice jab there from Baba. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Baba throws a hook to the side of Murphy's head but Murphy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Murphy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Murphy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baba throws a jab when Murphy was well out of range. Murphy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Murphy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baba. Murphy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Baba paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Murphy is rocked! and Baba counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Murphy! He's just covering up as Baba starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dennis Baba!
