Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Connor Rollins (ranked 7119 p4p, 411 weight class) and Dean Castilo (ranked 5170 p4p, 355 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castilo dives in and scores a takedown into Rollins's guard. Castilo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rollins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rollins has escaped and now he's on top!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rollins working some strikes from top position. Rollins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rollins's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rollins wanted to stand there but Castilo had control of the position. Castilo keeping full guard, as Rollins tries to pass. Rollins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Castilo trying to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rollins wants to stand but Castilo has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Rollins trying to control the position from guard on top but Castilo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rollins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castilo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Castilo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Castilo looks winded! Rollins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Rollins misses with a two punch combination.
Rollins throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rollins gets in close and instigates a clinch. Castilo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rollins after a bit of a struggle. Castilo wants a takedown but no success here.
Rollins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Castilo is trying to drag Rollins to the mat but Rollins just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Connor Rollins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Castilo.

Castilo is working for takedown but Rollins is calmly controlling the position for now. Rollins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Castilo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rollins haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Rollins trying to control the position from guard on top but Castilo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Castilo is working an open guard so Rollins takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rollins. Rollins moves into the clinch. Castilo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rollins fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Rollins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rollins throws a right and a left that Castilo avoids nicely. Rollins forces Castilo back against the cage and clinches. Castilo tries to pull guard but Rollins forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Rollins manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Rollins pulls Castilo in close to prevent any damage.

Rollins pushing down on Castilo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Rollins controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Castilo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rollins is trying to work for a kimura but Castilo is defending well.

Rollins wants to stand but Castilo has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Rollins passes to side control. Castilo tries to bench press Rollins off him but Rollins keeps the position. Rollins decides to take the fight back to the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rollins misses with a jab, cross combination.

Connor Rollins dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Rollins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Rollins tries for a takedown but Castilo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice shot lands for Rollins. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rollins!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Rollins enables Castilo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rollins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Castilo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rollins manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Castilo has Rollins in his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Castilo trying to control the position.

Castilo looking to pass the guard. Connor Rollins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rollins is looking to stand up but Castilo isn't so interested in that idea. Rollins keeping full guard, as Castilo tries to pass. Rollins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Castilo is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rollins controls Castilo momentarily but Castilo frees himself. Castilo stopping the sweep attempt from Rollins. Castilo wants to control from the top but Rollins keeps moving. Rollins is looking to stand up but Castilo isn't so interested in that idea. Rollins seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Castilo stands up and waves to Rollins to follow him. Rollins throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Rollins defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Castilo. Horrible takedown attempt by Castilo or perhaps it was just good defense by Rollins, which made it look bad. Castilo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rollins. Castilo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Castilo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Rollins throws Castilo to one side and escapes! Rollins stuffs the takedown attempt from Castilo. Castilo gets slowly back to his feet. Connor Rollins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Castilo. Rollins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Castilo swivels and escapes. Castilo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rollins defends it well.

Castilo darts in looking for a takedown but Rollins gets double underhooks and turns Castilo into the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Rollins misses with a double jab.
Rollins gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Castilo to score an easy takedown into full guard. Rollins keeping full guard, as Castilo tries to pass. Rollins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Dean Castilo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Connor Rollins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Castilo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rollins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Castilo, into his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Connor Rollins showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rollins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
