Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Neil (ranked 2208 p4p, 262 weight class) and Carl Bosa (ranked 3490 p4p, 360 weight class). Neil comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park - In the end. Luke Neil could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Carl Bosa's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Neil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Bosa!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Neil 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Bosa thows a leg kick but Neil checks it
and Neil counters with a nice body kick.
Bosa fails with a takedown attempt.
Neil was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bosa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice takedown defense from Neil. No joy for Bosa on that attempt.
Neil is looking to counter punch.
Bosa throws a sloppy head kick
and Neil counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bosa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
It looked like Neil wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bosa falls off balance throwing a combination
and Neil counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Neil enables Bosa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Neil manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Neil wants to stand up but Bosa is controlling him.
Neil keeping moving, preventing Bosa from controlling successfully.

Neil keeping full guard, as Bosa tries to pass.
Bosa wants to control from the top but Neil keeps moving.
Bosa is looking to pass into half guard but Neil pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Neil is in guard.

Neil might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bosa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Neil looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bosa holds on and takes a little breather.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bosa working a defensive guard but Neil manages to pass into side control anyway.
Bosa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bosa tries to roll over but Neil keeps him under control.
Neil content to control rather than advance.
Bosa wants to improve his position but Neil is controlling well.

Bosa actively working from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neil controlling the action here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
An inside leg kick lands from Bosa.
Bosa lunges at Neil with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Neil's hand.
Bosa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Neil.
As Neil backs off Bosa throws a huge counter combo but Neil manages to avoid it all.
Neil has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Luke Neil has been cut.
Bosa has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neil has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bosa finds it's way round the side to connect with Neil's head.
Neil misses the jab.
Bosa dives in for a single leg takedown but Neil sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Luke Neil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Bosa.
Good leg kick by Bosa there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Carl Bosa will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Luke Neil's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Neil tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Neil swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bosa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Neil is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bosa.
Nice takedown defense from Neil. No joy for Bosa on that attempt.
Neil is looking for a counter combo.
Bosa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Neil circles away quickly and effectively.
Bosa throws a left and a right that both miss
and Neil counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bosa misses with a double jab.
A little feinted left hand from Neil on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bosa staying out of range there.
Bosa scores with a crisp jab that stopped Neil in his tracks.
Bosa shoots in looking for a takedown. Neil tries to sprawl out of it but Bosa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Neil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bosa lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Neil backs up against the cage.
Bosa misses with a takedown attempt
and Neil counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Carl Bosa has been cut.
Luke Neil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Bosa.
Bosa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Neil stuffs the takedown.
Neil swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A nice side step and Bosa releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Bosa displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Bosa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A left and a right from Bosa both land. Nice combination.
Bosa throws a combination. Neil tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neil bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bosa scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Neil misses with the combination.
Neil throws a push kick but Bosa slaps the foot to one side.
Bosa misses with a leg kick.
Neil connects with a body shot that sends Bosa's belly button to the back.
Bosa lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Neil throws a nice looking combination but Bosa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bosa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bosa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Neil is looking to counter with a body kick.
Bosa throws a right hand that Neil ducks under and follows up with a left that Neil also avoids with ease.
Neil tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Neil counters with a straight right hand.
Bosa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Neil leaves Bosa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A jab from Neil finds it's way through Bosa's defenses.


Bosa is rocked!
Bosa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Neil as he jumps to the side.
Bosa is still on wobbly legs! Can Neil finish him?
Sloppy strikes from Bosa. Those never looked like landing.
It looked like Neil wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bosa seems to have recovered his senses.
Bosa paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Carl Bosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bosa connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Carl Bosa seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bosa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Neil.
Bosa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Neil throws a chopping leg kick but Bosa manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Bosa throws a leg kick which misses Neil's front leg but catches the back leg as Neil tries to avoid it.

Bosa fails to land with a series of punches.
Bosa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Neil moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bosa takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Bosa scores with a jab to the jaw.
Bosa has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Horrible takedown attempt by Bosa or perhaps it was just good defense by Neil, which made it look bad.

Carl Bosa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Bosa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bosa is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Bosa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Neil feinted there with a counter leg kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bosa. That's going to slow Neil down.
Bosa throws a right hand that Neil ducks under and follows up with a left that Neil also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bosa works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Neil stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bosa.
Bosa sizes up Neil with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bosa looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Neil appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Luke Neil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bosa misses with a head kick.
Bosa dives in and grabs Neil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Neil pushes down on Bosa's head and hops out.
Bosa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bosa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bosa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Neil but Neil pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Neil lands a nice hook to Bosa's body. Bosa takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Bosa drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Neil defends it well.

Neil just misses with a punch to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bosa! But no joy.
Neil is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Bosa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Neil throwing a counter right hand but Bosa manages to avoid it.
Neil cracks Bosa with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
No joy there for Neil, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bosa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bosa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Neil bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Neil misses with an uppercut. Bosa saw that one coming.
Bosa throws a series of punches but Neil moves out of range.
Bosa shoots in but Neil avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A punch lands to the side of Bosa 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Neil knocks Bosa out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Luke Neil!
A very excited looking Luke Neil made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
