Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kenshi Sakuraba (ranked 4632 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Lam Park (ranked 21962 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Lam Park will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshi Sakuraba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Lam Park! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Park moves in looking to clinch but Sakuraba pushes him off. Sakuraba looks for a takedown but Park sprawls well. Sakuraba throws a sloppy head kick and Park moves out of range easily. Park tries to close the distance and clinch but Sakuraba swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Danga de danga de dang - Park scores with a four punch combination! Park tries to close the distance and clinch but Sakuraba swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sakuraba fails to land the takedown. Sakuraba drives through and clinches with Park against the cage.

That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Park shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. We've been informed that Park has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. That's two minutes gone in the round. Sakuraba has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Sakuraba trying to control but Park is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sakuraba trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Park manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Sakuraba keeping moving, preventing Park from controlling successfully.

Park trying to control the position from guard on top but Sakuraba is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Park passes Sakuraba's left leg - he's now in half guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Park stalling away here and it's allowed Sakuraba to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Sakuraba is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Sakuraba tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sakuraba not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sakuraba fails to land the takedown. Sakuraba is breathing heavily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sakuraba fails with a takedown attempt. Park looks to land a combination. Sakuraba sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Park lands a right hand that snaps the head of Sakuraba backwards. Sakuraba takes a knee to the side of the body. Park is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Sakuraba keeps control of Park as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Sakuraba breaks the clinch.

Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sakuraba uses from the top position. Park wants to stand up but Sakuraba is controlling him. Sakuraba is looking to pass into half guard but Park pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Park is in guard.

Park scores to the head and body with a nice combination! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sakuraba swats away the attempt to clinch by Park. Park goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Park tries to clinch but Sakuraba is having none of it. As Park tries to get set, Sakuraba tries to push him back and clinch up but Park manages to avoid the attempt.

A right-left combo lands from Park. Park clinches up against the cage. Sakuraba has clasped his hands together around Park's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Park pushes Sakuraba away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sakuraba gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sakuraba stands up. This has been an exciting period of action! Park takes the fight into the clinch. Sakuraba is trying to pull guard but Park has him pressed against the cage. Sakuraba tries to pull guard but Park forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
