Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ash Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Twee Keer!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man throws a right and a left that Keer avoids nicely.
Man misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice takedown defense from Man. No joy for Keer on that attempt.
Keer throws a head kick that misses.
Ash Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Man sizes up Keer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Nice straight punches there by Man. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Man.
A left lands for Man.
Man looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Man lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Keer circles away quickly and effectively.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Man bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Keer's head.
Man stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Man wants it to stay on the feet.
A little feinted left hand from Man on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Keer slips a jab and a cross from Man.

Man will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Man looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Man feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Keer manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Keer moves in looking to clinch but Man pushes him off.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Keer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Keer has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

A lazy left from Man finds it's target.
Keer shoots in for a double leg but Man sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Man is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
No joy there for Man, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Keer tries to close the distance and clinch but Man swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Keer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Man works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Man is trying to control the position but Keer postures up.
Man knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Keer on the ground.
Keer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Man pulls Keer in close to his closed guard and prevents Keer from doing any damage or advancing position.
Keer stands and throws Man's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Keer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Keer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Man is not content to let Keer control the position.
Man is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Keer can do to turn this around?

Man sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Keer not doing much here.
Keer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Keer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Man's head.
Keer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Man jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Keer walks away with a smile on his face. Man gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Keer has had enough of the clinch but Man keeps him there for the moment.
Keer is trying to break free.

Man's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Man closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Keer takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Keer doesn't manage to clinch there - Man circles away.

It looked like Man was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Keer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Keer drops his hands momentarily and Man takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Man slaps away a takedown attempt from Keer, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Keer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
