Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Leahy (ranked 4805 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haflidi Haflidason (ranked 4804 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Leahy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Haflidi Haflidason! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leahy drives through with a takedown into guard. Leahy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Leahy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Leahy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Leahy trying to control the position from guard on top but Haflidason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Leahy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Leahy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haflidason can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Leahy controls the pace. Leahy stands and throws Haflidason's legs to the side, diving into side control. Haflidason prevents Leahy from improving position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leahy trying to control the action but Haflidason is working from the bottom. Haflidason struggling a bit here. Leahy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Leahy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Leahy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Leahy tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Leahy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Haflidason prevents Leahy from moving into mount. Leahy takes a little break here. Haflidason wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Leahy wants to control but Haflidason is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leahy has an Americana. Haflidason didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Leahy is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Leahy hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Robert Leahy!
