Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Atkinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Powers! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The is referee keeping an eye on Powers - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Powers tries for a takedown but Atkinson manages to get underhooks.
Powers has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Atkinson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Atkinson misses with a hook to the ribs.

Powers tries a knee to the head but Atkinson blocks it.

It looks like Jack Atkinson has been cut. Powers prevents Atkinson from breaking the clinch. Powers misses with a knee strike.

Atkinson is breathing heavily. Powers looking to throw knees to the head but Atkinson is blocking nicely.
Powers has hold of one of Atkinson's legs. Atkinson is fighting the takedown attempt but Powers gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Powers drops back looking for a leg! Atkinson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Atkinson manages to kick Powers off! Powers jumps back into Atkinson's guard. Powers advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Atkinson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Powers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Powers seems to be looking for submissions.
Atkinson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Powers has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Atkinson defend it? Powers steps over the head and cranks it - Atkinson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Powers!
