Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Javier Lopez (ranked 5924 p4p, 0 weight class) and Subby Rio (ranked 4751 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopez comes into the arena with Pump it up blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rio scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lopez is pushing Rio's head away, looking to escape. Rio manages to hold on to the position though.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Lopez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rio's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rio is taking a breather. Lopez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like Rio might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rio is defended easily by Lopez.
Rio misses with a takedown attempt - Lopez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lopez lands a big head kick that sends Rio tumbling to the mat! Lopez takes a step backwards and waves Rio back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Subby Rio has been cut.
Lopez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rio.

Lopez lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Rio crumples to the floor! Lopez milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

After winning the bout, Javier Lopez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
