Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Otto Downs (ranked 24943 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Dimasalang (ranked 23642 p4p, 0 weight class). Francisco Dimasalang has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Otto Downs's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Otto Downs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Francisco Dimasalang! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dimasalang misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Downs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dimasalang fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Downs has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A head kick misses from Dimasalang. Dimasalang lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Dimasalang tries a head kick but it misses.
Dimasalang lands with a nice body punch. Dimasalang throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Downs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dimasalang tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Downs tries to counter with a takedown but Dimasalang is quick to defend against it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dimasalang misses with a double jab
and Downs counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Dimasalang misses with a head kick.

and Downs counters with a straight right hand. Francisco Dimasalang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Downs moves in looking to clinch but Dimasalang pushes him off. Downs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Dimasalang rushes Downs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dimasalang manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Dimasalang misses with a short punch on the inside. Dimasalang lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Otto Downs has been cut. A nice glancing elbow lands by Dimasalang. Downs tries to break the clinch but Dimasalang is controlling the position. Dimasalang breaks from the clinch.
Downs blocks a head kick by Dimasalang.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Downs with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Otto Downs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dimasalang throws a right and a left that Downs avoids nicely. As Dimasalang looks to move away, Downs throws a big counter combo but Dimasalang just gets out of the way. Downs gets caught napping as Dimasalang dives in and scores a takedown. Downs manages to retain guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Downs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Dimasalang preventing the sweep. Dimasalang is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Downs is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Downs has escaped and now he's on top!
Dimasalang is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Downs presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dimasalang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dimasalang gets the takedown into side control. Downs is trying to improve his position. Dimasalang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dimasalang tries to move into full mount but can't pass Downs's legs. Dimasalang is chipping away with strikes.
Dimasalang working away. Dimasalang stands up and beckons Downs to his feet. Downs is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Downs fails to land the takedown. Dimasalang looks to land a left hand but Downs moved out of range nicely. That kick from Dimasalang tenderised Downs's leg. Downs is trying to keep his angry face on. Dimasalang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dimasalang throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Dimasalang throws a head kick but Downs moves out of range.
Downs tries to counter by clinching up but Dimasalang breaks away and moves out of range. Downs gets caught flat footed, as Dimasalang shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dimasalang loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dimasalang wants to control from the top but Downs keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Francisco Dimasalang dominated that round. The cut man is working on Otto Downs's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dimasalang uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Downs has time to react.
Downs is rocked! Dimasalang throws a powerful right kick. Downs tried to block low but the kick was high! Downs was taken right off of his feet! Dimasalang jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Francisco Dimasalang!
