Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Douglas (ranked 178 p4p, 26 weight class) and Katu Partio (ranked 238 p4p, 35 weight class). Douglas comes to the cage accompanied by Go For a Soda by Kim Mitchell. Partio has chosen Sininen sunnuntai as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partio lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Jack Douglas has been cut.
Partio uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Douglas.

We've been hearing good reports from Douglas's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Partio gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Partio apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Douglas takes one on the chin but seems OK.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Katu Partio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Partio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Katu Partio was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
