Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rae Fon (ranked 1435 p4p, 199 weight class) and Roger De Santos (ranked 3091 p4p, 369 weight class). Fon comes into the arena with Kojak Theme blaring out of the sound system. Rae Fon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rae Fon! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roger De Santos! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Santos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fon was covering up waiting for the punch and De Santos finishes the takedown easily into guard. Fon wants to stand and escape but De Santos is having none of it. Fon kicks De Santos off and gets to his feet. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that De Santos has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Fon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. De Santos drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Fon has closed the distance and engaged De Santos in a clinch.
A short left from Fon. De Santos takes a knee to the side of the body. De Santos has Fon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! De Santos's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Fon is pressed up against the cage. De Santos has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fon down to the mat. Fon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rae Fon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger De Santos. The fight moves into the clinch position. Fon lands an elbow just above De Santos 's eye.
It looks like Roger De Santos has been cut. Fon can't find room to land a body shot as De Santos controls the action.

That's one minute gone in the round. De Santos darts in looking for a takedown but Fon gets double underhooks and turns De Santos into the cage. Fon gets a clinch. De Santos is rocked! Fon lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. De Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Fon finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Fon working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Fon creates a bit of space for himself and rocks De Santos with a big uppercut! De Santos tries to clinch up but Fon pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples De Santos to the mat! De Santos covers up and Fon unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rae Fon! Rae Fon is the new welterweight champion! Rae Fon managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, King Nutrition , into his post fight interview. Roger De Santos spoke after the fight, saying 'He is a great fighter and a very good man and he won fair and square but I will be back soon for my fans!'.
