The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow dives in for a single leg takedown but Russell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Russell connects with the punch.
Shadow misses with a takedown
and Russell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Russell lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Russell lands a nice shot that snaps Shadow's head back.
Shadow shoots in and drives through. Russell sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chief Shadow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shadow fails with the takedown.
Shadow takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Russell throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Chief Shadow has been cut.
Russell has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Shadow is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Russell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shadow stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Russell lands with a nice body punch.
Oooooh!!! Russell has knocked Shadow down with a huge combo! Russell steps away and waves a wobbly Shadow back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oh Shadow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shadow gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Russell gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Shadow is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deviante Russell!
