Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Paddy (ranked 2706 p4p, 298 weight class) and Baron Geisler (ranked 3330 p4p, 349 weight class). Max Paddy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Paddy! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Baron Geisler! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Geisler misses with a looping right. Paddy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Geisler.
Paddy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Geisler swats him away and circles back towards the center. Paddy is looking to clinch but Geisler is avoiding it.
Geisler just misses with a punch to the body.
Paddy tries to clinch but Geisler is having none of it. A looping hook to the body misses from Geisler. Paddy does a little dance to reset his feet. Paddy changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Paddy moves to clinch but Geisler breaks away and Geisler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Geisler scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Some wild striking there from Geisler.
It looked like Paddy was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Geisler. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Geisler tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Paddy is able to avoid easily. Geisler lands with a shot to the body. Paddy tries to clinch and Geisler counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Geisler misses with a wild combination.

We've been hearing reports that Paddy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Paddy looks to score with a jab to the body but Geisler is just out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Paddy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Paddy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Geisler. Paddy drives through with a takedown into guard. Paddy is fighting to break Geisler's control of his arms but Geisler is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Paddy stops Geisler from standing up. That's three minutes gone in the round. Paddy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Geisler, who protects the arm well. Geisler is trying to control Paddy's posture but Paddy avoids it. Paddy tries to move to mount but Geisler blocks the move with his legs. Paddy has knee on belly momentarily but Geisler bucks him off and regains half guard. Geisler is trying to control but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Geisler works his way to full guard. Good work. Geisler controlling Paddy's posture. Paddy wants to pass the guard but Geisler is keeping the position. Paddy trying to control the position from guard on top but Geisler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Paddy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Geisler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Geisler pulls Paddy in close to prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paddy tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Geisler counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Baron Geisler dominated that round. That's time! Paddy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Paddy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Geisler wants to stand but Paddy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Paddy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Paddy isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Geisler stacks Paddy on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Geisler! You can see the frustration on Paddy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Geisler is staying tight to Paddy's torso, preventing him from escaping. Paddy trying to control but Geisler flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Paddy is trying to break free.
What can Paddy do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Geisler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Geisler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. That's going to take a lot out of him. Geisler misses with a straight right. Geisler misses with a left hand and Paddy counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Paddy working away. Paddy tries for a kimura but Geisler is defending well. Geisler struggling a bit here. Paddy works to advance to full mount. Geisler defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Geisler slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Paddy is just content to waste time from the top position. Geisler takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Geisler seems keen to control Paddy's posture. Paddy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Geisler swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Geisler won't allow Paddy to pass to mount. Geisler is staying active underneath Paddy, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Max Paddy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Paddy trying to advance position but Geisler counters by regaining guard. Paddy wants to pass the guard but Geisler is keeping the position. Geisler is looking to stand back up but Paddy counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Geisler.

Paddy jumps guard and drags Geisler to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Paddy is striking from the bottom but Geisler uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Paddy is not content to let Geisler control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Baron Geisler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Geisler winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
