The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briggs misses with a straight right. Briggs lands with a nice body punch. Briggs fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kibert looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Kibert slips under a jab. Kibert doesn't succeed with the takedown and Briggs counters with a lovely straight right hand! Briggs connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kibert slips a straight right by Briggs. Good shot there by Briggs. Kibert fails with the takedown and Briggs cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kibert misses with a low kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Briggs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Briggs lands with an overhand left. Briggs digs a good body shot into Kibert's ribs. Jab, jab by Briggs - just one landing. Kibert just misses with a punch to the body.

Kibert looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Kibert moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Briggs lands a jab to the nose. Kibert on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Kibert shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kibert showed some decent athleticism there. Kibert is nestled in close to Briggs, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Briggs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Briggs tries to get out of the position. Kibert slows the pace down in half guard. Briggs wants to get back to his feet. Briggs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kibert on the ground. Kibert is controlling the pace.

Briggs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Kibert slips a nice elbow through Briggs's hands, connecting with Briggs's forehead. Briggs wants to get back to his feet.

Kibert has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kibert lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kibert lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Briggs is rocked! Kibert is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Briggs is hurt! He's hurt bad - Kibert fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Briggs from any more punishment! Congratulations to Kibert! Great finish!
