Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alika Hakekia (ranked 1453 p4p, 183 weight class) and Scott Watt (ranked 1826 p4p, 218 weight class). Watt has chosen Edmund Fitzgerald as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Alika Hakekia has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Alika Hakekia seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alika Hakekia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Watt! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watt misses with a leg kick and Hakekia counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Watt has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Watt thuds his right hand into Hakekia's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Watt looks for a takedown but Hakekia sprawls well. Watt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hakekia. Hakekia was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Hakekia misses with a right hand and Watt counters with a straight right hand. We've been told by Hakekia's head coaches at Spartan that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hakekia throws an overhand right that lands on Watt's shoulder, as Watt tries to avoid the shot. Watt throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hakekia counters with a nice uppercut. Watt throws a series of strikes that have Hakekia backpedaling.
Watt scores with a nice head shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Watt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hakekia was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Watt swinging wildly here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hakekia defending well as Watt loads up on a big left hand. A little feinted left hand from Hakekia on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Watt throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hakekia counters with a stiff right hand.
Watt is rocked! Watt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hakekia swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Watt is still on wobbly legs! Can Hakekia finish him? Watt scores with a decent looking hook. Watt seems to have recovered his senses. Watt throws a right hand that misses
and Hakekia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Watt feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hakekias jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Watt throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Watt takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Watt scores with a one two! Hakekia had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Watt connects with a crisp jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hakekia slips a straight right by Watt. Hakekia throwing a counter right hand but Watt manages to avoid it. Watt steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hakekia.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hakekia slips under a jab from Watt. Scott Watt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Watt stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Watt throws a jab when Hakekia was well out of range. A little feinted left hand from Hakekia on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Donk. Watt catches Hakekia right on the button with a cross. Hakekia tries to move into range but Watt moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hakekia scores with a nice right hand.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Watt!
Hakekia lands a front kick. Hakekia ducks under a wild hook from Watt. It looked like Hakekia wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Sloppy strikes from Watt. Those never looked like landing. An attempted straight right counter from Hakekia misses the target. Watt slips a jab from Hakekia. Watt connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hakekia tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Hakekia is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Watt. A solid body kick from Watt. Hakekia looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Watt only half commits to the counter leg kick. Hakekia misses with a wild body shot. Hakekia blocks a head kick by Watt.
A little feinted left hand from Hakekia on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Watt cracks a nice hook into Hakekia's ribs. Watt lands with a cross. Watt loads up on a big right hand but Hakekia slips the punch. An attempted straight right counter from Hakekia misses the target. Watt is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hakekia had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Watt throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hakekia counters with a stiff right hand. Watt throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Watt throws a poor cross that misses
and Hakekia counters with a solid body kick. Watt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Watt looks to throw the jab but Hakekia is out of range. Hakekia lunges at Watt with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Watt's hand. Watt misses with a hook
and Hakekia counters with a huge left! Watt is in big trouble! He's backing up but Hakekia isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Watt from any more damage. A dominating finish by Hakekia!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alika Hakekia! Alika Hakekia bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
