Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yardbird Knox (ranked 2082 p4p, 234 weight class) and John Daugherty (ranked 3279 p4p, 314 weight class). Knox comes to the cage accompanied by Tear da Club Up | Three 6 Mafia. Daugherty comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dragula - Rob Zombie kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yardbird Knox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Daugherty! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knox connects with a body shot that sends Daugherty's belly button to the back. Daugherty takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Knox seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. The fighters circle momentarily. Knox darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Daugherty fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Knox manages to avoid it. Daugherty throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Knox on the side of the head.
It looks like Yardbird Knox has been cut. Knox bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Daugherty scores with a sloppy right hand. Knox should have avoided that one. Daugherty uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Knox. Knox lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Knox keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Daugherty. As Daugherty tries to get set, Knox tries to push him back and clinch up but Daugherty manages to avoid the attempt. Knox lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Knox pushing out the jab but it's not landing. The fighters circling - Knox throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Knox throws a hook but Daugherty avoids it easily. Daugherty has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A looping hook to the body misses from Knox. Daugherty does a little dance to reset his feet. Yardbird Knox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knox fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Knox connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knox moves out of range as Daugherty strikes. Knox wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Daugherty misses with a straight left. Daugherty has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Knox finds it's way round the side to connect with Daugherty's head. Knox takes a swing at Daugherty's ribcage but misses. Knox jabs Daugherty to the body, keeping him at a distance. Daugherty takes a body punch but keeps moving. Knox is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Daugherty throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Daugherty misses with a hook. Knox ducked under it nicely. Knox scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Daugherty doesn't seem bothered though. Daugherty swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Daugherty misses with a low kick as Knox jumps back. Yardbird Knox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A decent looking cross lands there for Daugherty. Knox gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Daugherty. Knox swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Daugherty. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Knox punishes Daugherty's body with a nice straight punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daugherty fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Knox uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Daugherty. Daugherty misses with a right hand and Knox connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Knox cracks Daugherty with a right hand to the side of the head. Daugherty misses with a looping right. Daugherty throws an off balance right hand
and Knox counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Knox throws a hook to the side of Daugherty's head but Daugherty sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Knox lands the left hand.
Daugherty is rocked! Knox lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Daugherty falls backwards - clearly groggy! Knox dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yardbird Knox! A very excited looking Yardbird Knox made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. In defeat, John Daugherty stepped up to the mic, saying 'Umm...yeah...where am I again?'.
