Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Burnett (ranked 4883 p4p, 0 weight class) and Requis Bently (ranked 25046 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Burnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Requis Bently!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bently shoots in and gets a takedown into Burnett's guard.

Bently is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Burnett is looking for a triangle but Bently pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burnett is adopting a defensive guard.

Bently throws a big elbow that misses.
Burnett wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Burnett looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bently is one step ahead there.

Bently bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Burnett looking to break Bently's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bently remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Burnett will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Burnett is riding his opponent, not letting Bently buck him off.
Burnett struggling to keep hold of the position.
Bently just trying to survive but Burnett is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Burnett working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Burnett has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Bently's body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bently covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Bently throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Burnett tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bently is in Burnett's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bently takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bently shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Burnett is holding on to half guard well.
Burnett is trying to control but can't.
Burnett holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Bently is working for a kimura but Burnett is defending it quite comfortably.
Bently wants to stand up but Burnett has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Bently tries to stand and escape but Burnett actually recovers to full guard.
Bently must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Burnett looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bently tries to close the distance and clinch but Burnett swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Burnett appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Bently closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Burnett did well to prevent Bently getting side control.
Burnett is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Bently is trying to control. Burnett wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bently wants to take a breather but Burnett is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bently is stalling here. Burnett is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bently seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Burnett has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Burnett wants to control but Bently is keeping him busy.

Requis Bently comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bently has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
