Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Darren Tellkins (ranked 1824 p4p, 241 weight class) and Hector Alvarez (ranked 3848 p4p, 412 weight class). The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Tellkins finds it's target.
Tellkins dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alvarez. That did some damage!
Tellkins throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hector Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tellkins moves out of range as Alvarez strikes.
A counter left hand to the body from Tellkins misses its target.
Alvarez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Alvarez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tellkins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Alvarez.
No joy there for Alvarez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alvarez misses with a wild combination.
Alvarez throws a hook but Tellkins blocks it.
Tellkins moves out of range of the strikes.
Alvarez throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tellkins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tellkins scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tellkins steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alvarez.
Alvarez misses with a lunging right hand
letting Tellkins counter with a right hand.
Tellkins throws a head kick that Alvarez semi-blocks.
Alvarez is rocked!
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Tellkins moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Alvarez! Tellkins continues to tee off on Alvarez, landing with a left and a right! Tellkins connects with a right hand that leaves Alvarez sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Tellkins!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Darren Tellkins!
