Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Kutaz (ranked 1159 p4p, 152 weight class) and Arlo Rochester (ranked 2603 p4p, 294 weight class). Rochester has chosen Voodoo Child- Jimi Hendrix as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rochester misses with a hook
and Kutaz counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Arlo Rochester has been cut.
Arlo Rochester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rochester defending well as Kutaz loads up on a big left hand.

Kutaz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rochester connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kutaz scrambles back to his feet.
Kutaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rochester throws out the jab.
Rochester missing with a left hand there. Kutaz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
It looked like Kutaz was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rochester.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kutaz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kutaz misses with a hook. Rochester ducked under it nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rochester cracks Kutaz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Rochester smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kutaz throws a body punch but Rochester moves out of range.
Kutaz closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Rochester has hold of Kutaz's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kutaz tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rochester cranks the arm and Kutaz screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kutaz, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
