Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Knight (ranked 2641 p4p, 314 weight class) and Lenny Kowalski (ranked 4045 p4p, 433 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight cracks Kowalski with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Knight misses with a hook. Kowalski ducked under it nicely.

Kowalski comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kowalski is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kowalski tries to close the distance and clinch but Knight swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Knight takes a swing at Kowalski's ribcage but misses.

and Kowalski decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Knight's guard.

Kowalski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Knight wants to get back to his feet but Kowalski passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kowalski in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
