Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kron Diego (ranked 773 p4p, 79 weight class) and Mono Loco (ranked 2670 p4p, 230 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Diego was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Diego looks to score with a jab to the body but Loco is just out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Loco has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Diego throws a body shot but no joy.
Loco feints the counter takedown.
Loco is trying hard to land a takedown here. Diego sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Loco shoots in looking for a takedown but Diego manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Loco's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kron Diego has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mono Loco.

Loco shoots in and gets a takedown into Diego's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Loco's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Diego is looking to stand up but Loco isn't so interested in that idea.

Diego utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Diego is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Canadian Elite Bruins Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Loco prevents Diego from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A punch lands to the side of Loco 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Mono Loco has been cut.
Loco gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Diego to counter with a crisp jab.
Diego looks to score with a jab to the body but Loco is just out of range.
Diego rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Loco moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Loco feints the counter takedown.
Diego misses with a looping left.

Diego misses with a few strikes there.
Loco shoots in but no luck this time.
Loco uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Diego.
Diego swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Diego leaves Loco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Diego keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Loco takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Diego closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Diego digs a right hand into Loco's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Loco's gas tank.

Loco's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Diego lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Loco is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Diego pulls him back up using the underhooks.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A short body shot lands from Diego as the two fighters clinch.
Diego scores with a shot to the side of Loco's head.
Diego lands a hook to the side of the head.
Diego on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A nice right hand lands inside from Diego.

Diego lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Diego.
Loco has had enough of the clinch but Diego keeps him there for the moment.
Loco throws an elbow but it misses.
Still in the clinch, Diego scores with a nice short uppercut.

Diego escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A left lands for Diego.

Loco is rocked!

Diego sends Loco crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Diego is motioning to the referee to let Loco up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Loco is still on wobbly legs! Can Diego finish him?
Diego sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Loco's defenses. It connects perfectly with Loco's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
