Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Milan Gusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Corvette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gusa comes to the cage accompanied by Ludacris - Move Bitch. Corvette has chosen Pulp Fiction Theme as his entrance music. Milan Gusa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Milan Gusa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nathan Corvette!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corvette tries to clinch there but Gusa circles away.
Milan Gusa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gusa shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gusa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Corvette is trying to stand.
Gusa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Corvette blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gusa.
Corvette tries to kick Gusa off in order to stand up. Gusa Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Gusa is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Corvette knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gusa moves into the clinch.
Gusa blocks an elbow strike from Corvette.
Gusa blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Corvette landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Gusa tries to score a body lock takedown but Corvette shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Corvette had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gusa is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Corvette Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gusa's back instead.

Gusa is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Corvette tries to close the distance and clinch but Gusa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gusa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milan Gusa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Corvette's corner calls for a 1-2. Corvette obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Gusa rushes Corvette and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Gusa tries to pull guard but Corvette won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Gusa is pressed up against the cage. Corvette has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gusa down to the mat. Gusa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Gusa holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gusa lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Gusa misses with a knee to the head.
Corvette with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Gusa blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Corvette has had enough of the clinch but Gusa keeps him there for the moment.

That's time! Gusa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Corvette throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gusa shoots in for a takedown but Corvette shows good takedown defense.
Corvette scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Corvette digs a right hand underneath Gusa's ribcage. Gusa let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Corvette misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gusa.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Corvette just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gusa's brow.
Gusa tries to land knees in the clinch but Corvette avoids the damage to the body.
Gusa throws a knee to the head but misses.
Gusa looking to throw knees to the head but Corvette is blocking nicely.
Corvette is trying to break the clinch but Gusa has him pressed against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Corvette throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gusa blocks it with crossed arms.
Corvette unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gusa lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Corvette must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gusa holds on and takes a little breather.

Gusa manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Corvette goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Corvette counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gusa's knee momentarily.
Corvette lands a head kick. Gusa smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Corvette has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gusa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Milan Gusa will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Gusa counters with a nice double leg into side control. Corvette won't be happy with that.

Gusa throwing strikes but Corvette manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Corvette tries to stand but Gusa is controlling his head.

Corvette decides to stand back up. Corvette steps back and let's Gusa get back to his feet.
Corvette looks to land a combination but Gusa avoids it well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gusa tries a knee to the head but Corvette blocks it.
Corvette lands a nice elbow.
Gusa missing with knees to the body.
Nathan Corvette has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Gusa decides to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gusa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Corvette wanted to stand there but Gusa had control of the position.

Gusa is looking for a triangle but Corvette pushes his legs off easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Milan Gusa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gusa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
