Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Lane (ranked 2476 p4p, 231 weight class) and Jackson Pen (ranked 5542 p4p, 378 weight class). Peter Lane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Lane!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jackson Pen!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pen eats them both and turns towards Lane to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Pen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lane.
Pen with the counter takedown but Lane avoids it easily.
Lane walks into a jab.
Pen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Pen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lane to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Lane drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pen dives on top into guard.


Pen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lane has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pen has managed to get both his arms back between Lane's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lane has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Lane has his foot on Pen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pen works his way back into a safe position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pen wants to stand but Lane is controlling his posture from full guard.
Lane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lane had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pen defends it easily.
Pen throws a strike but Lane rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lane trying to control but Pen is working from the bottom.
Lane advances position into side control!

Pen is trying to get back to his feet.

Lane tries for a kimura but Pen is defending well.
Pen is not content to let Lane control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lane working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Lane dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Pen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lane moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lane tries to bum rush Pen with a series of wild strikes but Pen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pen slips a jab and a cross from Lane.
Lane throws a leg kick but Pen sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Pen misses with a series of wild punches.

Lane closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pen quickly recovers to half guard.
Lane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pen can do to turn this around?

Pen wants to get back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pen blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lane.
Pen looks like he's trying to stand up.

Lane is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lane.
Lane lands with a punch from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lane is looking for a kimura but Pen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lane to get the leverage.

Lane thows a huge punch but Pen dodges it nicely.

Peter Lane overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lane is trying for a kimura here. Pen looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Lane wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Peter Lane!
