Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donovan Meyer (ranked 4027 p4p, 446 weight class) and Aylin Shah (ranked 5200 p4p, 511 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donovan Meyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aylin Shah!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyer pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shah back to the cage. Meyer follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Aylin Shah has been cut.

Meyer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Shah misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Shah swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It looked like Meyer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Meyer enables Shah to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Meyer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Shah has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Meyer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Donovan Meyer will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shah has his foot on Meyer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Meyer works his way back into a safe position though.

Meyer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A clash of legs there as Shah blocks the low kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Shah throws a right hand that Meyer ducks under and follows up with a left that Meyer also avoids with ease.
Shah lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
