Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mendez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Brice in his tracks.
It looks like Adrian Brice has been cut. Mendez is looking to clinch but Brice is avoiding it.
Mendez wants to clinch up but Brice keeps it at a distance. Mendez drives through and clinches with Brice against the cage.
Brice takes a shot to the head. Brice has hold of one of Mendez's legs. Mendez is fighting the takedown attempt but Brice gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Mendez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mendez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brice prevents Mendez from getting back to his feet. Mendez trying to keep a closed guard but Brice is proving a slippery customer.
Mendez is striking off his back. Brice thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Brice is thwarting Mendez's attempts to control the position. Mendez is trying to stand up here but Brice is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mendez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Mendez fails to land the takedown. Mendez looks gassed! Brice tries to work over Mendez's front leg with a kick but Mendez checks it. Mendez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brice. Brice has closed the distance and engaged Mendez in a clinch.
Mendez is looking to control Brice's arms but Brice gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mendez has his back to the cage. Brice takes an elbow to the temple. Brice is trying to break free. Brice turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Brice manages to end up in side control. Brice controls the position. Mendez takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Mendez is trying to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brice landing strikes. Brice scores with a couple of short elbows. Brice in side control, just content to control the action for now. Brice seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mendez for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Brice working the ground and pound. Brice has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Brice advances nicely into full mount. Brice has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mendez's face.
Mendez has given up his back here. Will Brice look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Mendez is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Brice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Brice. Brice scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Mendez is looking for a way out. A bit of a pause in the action here. Brice controlling the positon. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brice working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Mendez is doing well to defend. Brice seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Mendez is forced to tap and this one is over!
