Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ari Dorezo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Baptista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baptista has chosen Mata Ratos - A Minha Sogra e um Boi as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ari Dorezo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dorezo tries to clinch there but Baptista circles away.
Dorezo gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dorezo swings wildly with an uppercut but Baptista uses good head movement to avoid it. Baptista jumps guard.
Dorezo trying to control the position from guard on top but Baptista is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Baptista avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Baptista is trying to control the position but Dorezo postures up. Baptista seems keen to control Dorezo's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dorezo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dorezo wants to stand but Baptista is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dorezo is looking to work some ground and pound but Baptista has wrist control. Baptista looking to control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nice sprawl there from Baptista as Dorezo shoots in. Baptista shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Dorezo tries to lock up and control but Baptista gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Baptista controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baptista goes for an armbar but Dorezo turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dorezo. Dorezo wants to control from the top but Baptista keeps moving. Baptista has a closed guard, preventing Dorezo from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dorezo tries to free his leg and advance position but Baptista is retaining full guard. Baptista is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Baptista's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luis Baptista dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dorezo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dorezo tries to close the distance and clinch but Baptista swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Baptista fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dorezo misses with a head kick.
Ari Dorezo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dorezo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A nice leg kick lands there from Baptista. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baptista defending well as Dorezo loads up on a big left hand. Baptista is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Baptista tries to close the distance and clinch but Dorezo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick by Baptista misses and Dorezo counters with a shoot takedown. Baptista fights it but they end up in guard. Dorezo slips nicely into half guard. Baptista blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dorezo. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baptista keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Baptista controlling the position well. Baptista looking for submissions off his back. Baptista is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baptista is refusing to be controlled, as Dorezo sits in half guard. Baptista keeps control of the position for the meantime. Baptista is looking to control Dorezo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Baptista avoid being mounted?

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dorezo darts in trying to clinch and Baptista counters with a lovely shot to the body. Baptista tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dorezo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Baptista counters with a takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Baptista thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dorezo is looking to reverse the position. Dorezo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Dorezo trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Baptista wants to control the pace but Dorezo is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Luis Baptista will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

A low kick from Dorezo misses and Baptista counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Dorezo is lucky that one didn't land flush. Dorezo tries to clinch but Baptista moves away and Baptista counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dorezo won't be happy with that. Dorezo wants to control but Baptista postures up. Dorezo is being controlled here. Baptista takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dorezo manages to get back to half guard. Dorezo is refusing to be controlled, as Baptista sits in half guard. Dorezo wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Baptista seems content to control. Baptista wants to stand but Dorezo has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Baptista wants to control but Dorezo is keeping him busy. Dorezo is looking for a sweep. Baptista is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dorezo is positioning himself well to prevent Baptista advancing to mount.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Dorezo with a poor takedown and Baptista counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Dorezo managing to control the position. Baptista would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dorezo has his foot on Baptista's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Baptista works his way back into a safe position though. Baptista decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Baptista rushes Dorezo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Baptista stops a takedown attempt from Dorezo.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dorezo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Baptista smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ari Dorezo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baptista shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Baptista takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Dorezo is trying to escape the mount.

And that's the end of the fight! Luis Baptista comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Baptista has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
