The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ponder shoots in for a takedown but Farinelli shows good takedown defense.
Ponder wants to clinch up but Farinelli keeps it at a distance.
Sebastian Ponder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Farinelli avoids the head kick by Ponder.
Ponder doesn't manage to clinch there - Farinelli circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ponder.

Ponder decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Farinelli wants to get back to full guard.
Ponder is trying to control. Farinelli wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Farinelli has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Ponder. Oh but Farinelli has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Ponder goes limp - he's gone! Farinelli jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
