Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eliseo Cannon (ranked 4793 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janis Blums (ranked 6572 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Blums's choice of entrance music: BEAST by Rob Bailey & The Hustle Standard. Janis Blums has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eliseo Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Janis Blums! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Blums. Blums is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Blums throws a head kick that misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Blums looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Blums lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Eliseo Cannon has been cut. Blums closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cannon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Blums scores with a couple of nice shots. Blums is thwarting Cannon's attempts to control the position. Blums wants to stand up but Cannon is controlling the position.
Cannon has one foot on Blums's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blums throws a head kick but Cannon moves out of range.
Blums throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cannon checks a low kick from Blums. Blums throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cannon was covering up waiting for the punch and Blums finishes the takedown easily into guard. Cannon kicks Blums off and gets to his feet. Blums looks winded! Blums wants to clinch. A head kick misses from Blums. Blums throws a head kick that misses and Cannon counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cannon stands up and waves to Blums to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cannon showed some decent athleticism there. Cannon is looking for a kimura but Blums is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cannon to get the leverage. Blums is trying to maintain the position but Cannon is very close to passing his half guard. Cannon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Blums defends it well. Cannon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Blums is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Blums is trying to control but Cannon manages to pass to mount!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Blums is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cannon looking to secure an arm triangle but Blums defends it well. Cannon moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Blums has worked his arm free - good work by Blums!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blums is looking for a sweep. Blums regains half guard. Blums trying to control here.

Eliseo Cannon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Eliseo Cannon's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Blums throws a head kick that misses. Blums dives in and scores a takedown into Cannon's guard. Cannon kicks Blums off and gets to his feet. Blums misses with a body kick. Blums throws a sloppy head kick and Cannon moves out of range easily. Cannon thinks about countering with a head kick. Janis Blums seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blums tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cannon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cannon throws a big counter combination but Blums scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Blums throws a head kick that misses and Cannon counters with a series of strikes. Blums will be more careful next time no doubt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cannon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Blums did well to prevent Cannon getting side control. Blums tries to roll over but Cannon keeps him under control. Cannon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blums with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Blums is breathing heavily. Cannon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blums tries to kick Cannon off but Cannon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Blums is defending against the submission attempts here by Cannon.
Cannon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Blums sees it coming and defends easily. Eliseo Cannon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Blums tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Cannon has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Blums is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Cannon looking to secure an arm triangle but Blums defends it well. Cannon swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Blums is now in Cannon's guard. A big mistake from Cannon there, giving up the dominant position! Cannon is looking for a triangle but Blums pushes his legs off easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blums makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Blums scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Cannon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Blums trying to control the position from guard on top but Cannon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cannon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blums can do to turn this around? Blums got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cannon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blums has managed to get both his arms back between Cannon's legs - danger averted. Blums landing some decent shots from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blums lands a couple of decent looking shots. Blums stands and steps away. Cannon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blums tries to clinch but Cannon is having none of it. Blums tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Blums throws a head kick that misses. Blums defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cannon. Blums misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Blums scores with a takedown into Cannon's guard. Blums drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cannon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Blums has Cannon in his guard. Blums looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Cannon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Eliseo Cannon will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Eliseo Cannon's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Cannon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Blums manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Blums avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cannon. Blums throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Cannon manages to pass to side control. Blums tries to buck Cannon off but Cannon is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Blums is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Blums struggling a bit here. Cannon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Blums, who protects the arm well. Blums manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Blums is looking to pass Cannon's guard but actually Cannon recovers to full guard. Cannon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blums throws a big right hand that misses. Cannon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Blums lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Cannon has momentary wrist control but Blums slips an elbow through the middle. Blums trying to control but Cannon is working from the bottom. Blums keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cannon's head. Blums stops Cannon from standing up. Blums is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Cannon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Blums wants to control from the top but Cannon keeps moving. Blums got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cannon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blums has managed to get both his arms back between Cannon's legs - danger averted. Blums wants to control from the top but Cannon keeps moving. Cannon trying to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Blums throws a head kick that Cannon semi-blocks.
