Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steph Curry! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Graves fails to land with a series of punches.
A right-left combo lands from Curry.
It looks like Ernest Graves has been cut. Curry thuds a left hand into Graves's body. Curry pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Graves connects with a nice looking jab.
Graves takes a swing at Curry's ribcage but misses. Curry throws a counter combo. Graves slips a jab from Curry. Curry throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Graves misses the shot to the body. A countering left hand to the body from Curry misses. Curry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Graves was well out of range. Poor timing from Curry. Ernest Graves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Graves swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Graves lands a jab to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Graves throws a body shot but no joy. Graves takes one to the side of the head.

Curry slips a jab from Graves. Graves ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Curry's coach down at Touch Butt in the Park was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Curry's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. and Curry counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Curry throws the left hand but Graves avoids the punch easily. Graves gets in close and instigates a clinch. Curry lands on the inside with an uppercut. Curry misses with a hook from the clinch. Curry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Curry's jab looks to have found its range, popping Graves under the eye. Curry uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Graves. Graves connects with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Decent striking displayed by Graves there. Decent striking displayed by Graves there.
