Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Erikson (ranked 3055 p4p, 287 weight class) and Erik Friedrichsen (ranked 2041 p4p, 210 weight class). Erikson comes to the cage accompanied by Gåte - Statt Opp. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Erikson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erik Friedrichsen! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Friedrichsen throws out a leg kick but Erikson moves out of range and Friedrichsen only half commits. As Friedrichsen tries to get set, Erikson tries to push him back and clinch up but Friedrichsen manages to avoid the attempt. Friedrichsen throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Jon Erikson has been cut. Erikson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Friedrichsen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Erikson momentarily.
Friedrichsen misses with an uppercut. Erikson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Erikson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Erikson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Friedrichsen misses with a low kick as Erikson jumps back. Friedrichsen misses with a looping left. Erik Friedrichsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Friedrichsen tests Erikson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Erikson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Friedrichsen sends Erikson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Friedrichsen is motioning to the referee to let Erikson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Erikson is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Friedrichsen scores with a leg kick.
Oh Erikson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Friedrichsen walks into a jab.
It looks like Erik Friedrichsen has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Friedrichsen. Erikson does a little dance to reset his feet. Erikson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Friedrichsen manages to circle out of the way. Friedrichsen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Erikson seems to have got his legs back now. Friedrichsen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Friedrichsen misses with a jab to the body
and Erikson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Friedrichsen works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A short left from Friedrichsen. Erikson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Erikson avoids the body shot from Friedrichsen.
Friedrichsen throws a sloppy body shot
and Erikson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A swing and a miss from Friedrichsen. Friedrichsen swinging wildly here.
Friedrichsen misses the body punch and Erikson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Erikson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Friedrichsen misses with a right hand and Erikson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Friedrichsen swings widly with a right hand
letting Erikson counter with a right hand.
Friedrichsen is rocked!
That has opened up Erik Friedrichsen's cut even more. Friedrichsen drops his hands momentarily and Erikson needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Friedrichsen just on the top of the head. Friedrichsen drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Friedrichsen - he's done!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jon Erikson! After winning the bout, Jon Erikson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. Erik Friedrichsen was interviewed post fight and said 'I am young. This is merely a slight delay'.
