Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Satoru Yoshioka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Mendez! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshioka fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mendez is out of range. Mendez rushes Yoshioka and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mendez doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mendez throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Yoshiokas head. Yoshioka has Mendez pushed against the cage. Yoshioka is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mendez is keeping busy. Mendez lands with a short head shot on the inside. Mendez throws a punch but it's blocked by Yoshioka. Yoshioka manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Yoshioka keeping moving, preventing Mendez from controlling successfully. Yoshioka is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mendez defends well. Yoshioka has his hands on Mendez's head, controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez wanted to stand there but Yoshioka had control of the position. Mendez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yoshioka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Yoshioka is trying to control the position but Mendez postures up. Yoshioka is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Yoshioka is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mendez rolls with it to try and escape but Yoshioka cranks on the arm and Mendez is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
