Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smolar works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Smolar slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Menchov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Menchov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Menchov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smolar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Menchov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Smolar. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Menchov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Menchov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
