And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mister Hugsie!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hugsie has Haney up against the cage in a clinch.
Hugsie swings wildly with an uppercut but Haney uses good head movement to avoid it.
A bit of stalling here from Hugsie.
Hugsie just leaning against Haney, taking a breather.
Haney stalling.
Hugsie can't find room to land a body shot as Haney controls the action.
Hugsie lands a hook that snaps the head of Haney backwards.
Hugsie doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Haney is looking to control Hugsie's arms but Hugsie gets an underhook and turns him. Now Haney has his back to the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Haney has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hugsie has Haney pressed against the cage, preventing Haney from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hugsie.
Hugsie misses with a punch on the inside.
Hugsie is struggling to control the position.
Hugsie leaning his opponent against the cage.
Hugsie just leaning against Haney, taking a breather.
The crowd are getting on Hugsie's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Hugsie can't find room to land a body shot as Haney controls the action.
Hugsie lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hugsie lands an uppercut.


It looks like Jed Haney has been cut.

Hugsie misses with a punch on the inside.
Hugsie misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Haney wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Haney is trying to push Hugsie away but Hugsie has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hugsie takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Hugsie stalls.
Hugsie pushes Haney back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hugsie can't find room to land a body shot as Haney controls the action.
Hugsie has a couple of punches blocked by Haney.

Haney pulls Hugsie into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Haney has a closed guard, preventing Hugsie from standing up.
Haney will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hugsie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Haney has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hugsie has managed to get both his arms back between Haney's legs - danger averted.
Hugsie wants to stand but Haney is controlling his posture from full guard.
Haney wants to control the position but Hugsie says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Haney is holding on to half guard well.
Haney tries to roll over but Hugsie keeps him under control.
Haney punching from the bottom.
Hugsie tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Haney looking for a kimura from the bottom but Hugsie passes into side control!
Hugsie wants to stand but Haney has his arm trapped.
Hugsie is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Hugsie stands up and beckons Haney to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hugsie tries to keep at a distance but Haney has taken the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mister Hugsie dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jed Haney's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Haney has managed to clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hugsie has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Hugsie.
Hugsie keeps control of Haney as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hugsie scores with an uppercut up the middle.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Hugsie in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hugsie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Hugsie lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Haney to his knees! Hugsie keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
