Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Len Guerrero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Starr! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Starr throws a series of punches but Guerrero moves out of range. An attempted straight right counter from Guerrero misses the target. A lazy left from Starr finds it's target. Guerrero showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Starr.
Starr moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Len Guerrero has been cut. Starr darts in and clinches Guerrero up against the cage. Guerrero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. A short uppercut from Starr. Guerrero takes a knee right on the jaw!
Guerrero has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Starr avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Guerrero can't get the takedown.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Starr has a closed guard, preventing Guerrero from standing up. Starr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Starr throws a combination that misses and Guerrero connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Starr darts in and clinches Guerrero up against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Starr as Guerrero tries to tie him up. Guerrero gets control of Starr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Guerrero will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Starr postures up.

Starr looks to land a combination but Guerrero avoids it well. Guerrero is looking to counter the offense by Starr and move into the clinch. Starr lands with a kick to the temple. Guerrero shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Starr clinches up with Guerrero and pushes him back against the cage. Starr is pushing Guerrero up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Starr pulls guard effortlessly. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Guerrero decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Starr forces Guerrero back against the cage and clinches. Starr tries to avoid it but Guerrero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Starr to the ground. Starr escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Starr explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Starr feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Guerrero's calf. Starr tries to bum rush Guerrero with a series of wild strikes but Guerrero uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Starr throws a one two combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Starr closes the distance and pushes Guerrero back into the cage. Starr comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Starr throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Guerrero blocks it with crossed arms. Starr pulls guard successfully.

Guerrero wanted to stand there but Starr had control of the position. Guerrero won't allow Starr to get back to his feet. Starr looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Starr is trying to control the position but Guerrero postures up. Starr is breathing heavily. Guerrero won't allow Starr to get back to his feet. Guerrero has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Starr is proving hard to escape from. Len Guerrero overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Starr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Guerrero defends well. Guerrero with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Starr tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Guerrero can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Starr wants to get back to his feet but Guerrero is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Guerrero might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Guerrero gets to his feet. Starr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Len Guerrero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Guerrero blocks a head kick by Starr.
Starr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. As Starr tries to get set, Guerrero tries to push him back and clinch up but Starr manages to avoid the attempt. Starr clinches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Starr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Len Guerrero's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Starr lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Guerrero backwards. Guerrero jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Starr walks away with a smile on his face. Guerrero gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Starr throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Starr has closed the distance and engaged Guerrero in a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! John Starr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Starr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
