Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thimothy Weenus (ranked 4594 p4p, 349 weight class) and Shawn VanDam (ranked 3920 p4p, 316 weight class). The key to victory for Thimothy Weenus has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Thimothy Weenus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shawn VanDam! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! VanDam moves into the clinch. Weenus blocks a body shot from VanDam. VanDam has hold of one of Weenus's legs. Weenus is fighting the takedown attempt but VanDam gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Weenus wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and VanDam manages to pass to side control.
Weenus definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Weenus actively working from the bottom here. VanDam not landing any meaningful shots this time. VanDam controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. VanDam throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. VanDam throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. VanDam wants to stand but Weenus has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weenus is staying active underneath VanDam, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Weenus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but VanDam pulls his head out easily. Weenus trying to control but VanDam postures up.
VanDam throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Weenus looking for submissions from an awkward position here. VanDam should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. VanDam is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

VanDam thows a huge punch but Weenus dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Weenus is trying to stand up here but VanDam is controlling him well.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Weenus walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Weenus tries to sprawl but VanDam drives through with a takedown into half guard. VanDam scoring with strikes to the body and head. VanDam keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Weenus keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Weenus is trying to control but VanDam passes into side control!
VanDam wants to stand but Weenus is controlling his arm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shawn VanDam dominated that round. That's time! Weenus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
VanDam looking to score a takedown here. Weenus is defending well but VanDam drives through and ends up in Weenus's guard. VanDam slips nicely into half guard. VanDam has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Weenus wants to get back to his feet. VanDam seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Weenus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. VanDam thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Weenus wants to control the action here but instead VanDam manages to pass to full mount! VanDam can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Weenus is looking to escape. VanDam takes Weenus's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Weenus is in trouble. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. VanDam gets his hands free as Weenus looks to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. VanDam has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Weenus's body.
Weenus is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. I would not like to be Weenus right now.
VanDam scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Weenus is looking for a way out. VanDam is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Weenus trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - VanDam has eaten all the pies! VanDam trying to control. VanDam is not going to allow Weenus to sit and survive in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. VanDam is looking to control Weenus but Weenus is wriggling around and keeping busy. Weenus tries to escape but VanDam has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Weenus wants to get back to his feet. Weenus is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
VanDam is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Weenus has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. VanDam looking for the choke but no joy. Weenus is trying to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shawn VanDam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
VanDam closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Weenus's guard. VanDam stays in close to Weenus's body and controls the position. VanDam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. VanDam wants to stand but Weenus is controlling his posture from full guard. VanDam looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. VanDam throws a big elbow that misses. VanDam got a little sloppy there for a moment and Weenus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, VanDam has managed to get both his arms back between Weenus's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. VanDam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Weenus works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Shawn VanDam has got the better of the ground game so far. VanDam slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Weenus working for a triangle but VanDam defends it easily.
Weenus has momentary wrist control but VanDam slips an elbow through the middle. Weenus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Weenus has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. VanDam is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Weenus.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. VanDam moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Weenus looks to move to half guard but instead VanDam has passed into mount! Damn! Thimothy Weenus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! VanDam fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
VanDam controlling his opponent. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! VanDam scoring with strikes but Weenus is staying in there. Shawn VanDam is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. VanDam takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Shawn VanDam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well VanDam has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
