Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bleeding Spanner (ranked 433 p4p, 59 weight class) and Hugues Dupont (ranked 529 p4p, 68 weight class). The key to victory for Bleeding Spanner has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bleeding Spanner! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Hugues Dupont! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dupont takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Dupont misses the shot to the body. We've been told by Spanner's head coaches at Ass Private Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hugues Dupont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spanner feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dupont's calf. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dupont has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Spanner lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Dupont ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spanner moves away. Spanner fires out a quick counter leg kick but Dupont just manages to avoid it. Spanner throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Dupont bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dupont is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Spanner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dupont can do to turn this around? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spanner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Dupont manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. That's three minutes gone in the round. Bleeding Spanner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dupont bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Spanner's guard. Dupont trying to control the position from guard on top but Spanner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dupont seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Spanner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dupont shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spanner pinned against the cage. Spanner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dupont throws a poor cross that misses

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Spanner leaves Dupont with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dupont ducks under a wild hook from Spanner. Spanner tries to sprawl out of it but Dupont keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage.
