Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Haku Takamura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Orion Durara! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durara throws a sloppy head kick and Takamura moves out of range easily. An inside leg kick lands from Durara. The fight moves into the clinch position. Durara misses with a hook from the clinch. Takamura has picked Durara up - he's going for a ride! Takamura dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Takamura seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Takamura is looking for a kimura here.
Durara desperately trying to maintain half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Durara trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durara tries to roll over but Takamura keeps him under control. Durara holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Durara is staying active underneath Takamura, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Durara desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Durara cracks the inside of Takamura's front leg. Orion Durara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Durara throws a head kick but Takamura moves out of range.
Durara throws a lazy head kick and Takamura counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Takamura. Durara pulls Takamura into guard.
Durara is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takamura wants to stand and escape but instead Durara has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Durara works a leg free and moves into half guard. Takamura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Durara on the ground. Durara is looking for a kimura here.
Durara is thwarting Takamura's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Durara has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Takamura defend it? Durara steps over the head and cranks it - Takamura is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Durara!
