Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodrygo Da Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Syco Souirrel!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva is looking to clinch but Souirrel is avoiding it.
Souirrel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Souirrel controls the position.
Souirrel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souirrel throws a half hearted mid kick.
Souirrel looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Da Silva is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Souirrel dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Souirrel decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Da Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Souirrel to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Da Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Souirrel is proving a slippery customer.

Souirrel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Souirrel.

Da Silva shoots in but no luck this time.

and Souirrel counters by moving into the clinch.
Da Silva is trying to pull guard but Souirrel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrygo Da Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Souirrel keeps control of Da Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Da Silva wanted to stand there but Souirrel had control of the position.
Souirrel throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Souirrel throws his legs up looking for a submission but Da Silva uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Da Silva trying to control the position but Souirrel is working away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Souirrel tries to improve position but can't.
Da Silva wants to stand but Souirrel is controlling his arm.
Da Silva wants to control but Souirrel is keeping him busy.
Da Silva throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Souirrel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Souirrel looking for a sweep but Da Silva has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Souirrel is squirming around, avoiding Da Silva's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Syco Souirrel dominated that round.
That's time! Da Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Da Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Souirrel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Despite the aggression on Souirrel's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Souirrel pushes Da Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Souirrel is trying to trip Da Silva. He has hold of a leg but Da Silva is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Souirrel persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Souirrel throws a sloppy strike and Da Silva has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Souirrel is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Da Silva!
