Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Hunter (ranked 5242 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Stead (ranked 6144 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damian Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Stead!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stead takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Stead connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hunter thumps Stead with a low kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Stead misses the target.
Hunter scores with a leg kick.
Hunter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stead swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stead is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Hunter has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stead finds it's way round the side to connect with Hunter's head.
No joy there for Stead, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Hunter wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hunter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stead as he avoids it easily.
Stead drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hunter defends it well.
Stead takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Stead lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stead.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hunter pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Stead looks to throw the jab but Hunter is out of range.
Hunter throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Hunter.
Nice straight punches there by Stead. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Stead.

Stead looking to score a takedown here. Hunter is defending well but Stead drives through and ends up in Hunter's guard.

Hunter is looking for a triangle but Stead pushes his legs off easily.

Stead avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stead wants to pass the guard but Hunter is keeping the position.
Hunter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stead manages to get himself to full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stead can do anything to dispel that myth.

Stead wants to control but Hunter is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hunter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stead is just riding it out for now. Hunter eventually gives up the hold.

Hunter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hunter is nestled in close to Stead, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hunter is looking to take a break and control but Stead is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stead wants to improve his position but Hunter is controlling well.
Hunter winds up and cracks Stead with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hunter is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Stead is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
