PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aki Hiko (ranked 1029 p4p, 51 weight class) and Chip Chocolate (ranked 969 p4p, 49 weight class). Chocolate comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cookie Dance kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Chip Chocolate acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aki Hiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Chocolate!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiko tries a low kick but Chocolate avoids it.
Chocolate looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Hiko sizes up Chocolate with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hiko slips a jab and a cross from Chocolate.
Hiko appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've been told by Hiko's head coaches at Five Round Fight Club NY (50 max) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Hiko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chocolate.
Hiko half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Chocolate takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Chocolate needs to keep his hands up - Hiko had a free shot at his head there.
Hiko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Chocolate moves out of range of the leg kick from Hiko.
Chocolate shoots in for a takedown but Hiko shows good takedown defense.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Chocolate! But no joy.

Hiko wants to stand up but Chocolate is controlling him.

Hiko has his feet on Chocolate's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Horrible takedown attempt by Chocolate or perhaps it was just good defense by Hiko, which made it look bad.

Chocolate throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hiko's waist but Hiko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chocolate off to one side.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hiko lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chocolate has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hiko is fighting to break Chocolate's control of his arms but Chocolate is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chocolate bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hiko's guard.

Hiko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chocolate's guard.

Chocolate wants to sweep here but Hiko controlling him for the moment.
Chocolate is pulling down on Hiko's head. It's preventing any offense from Hiko, at least for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hiko throws a low kick but Chocolate avoids it.
Chocolate avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hiko scores with a leg kick.
Hiko tries to bum rush Chocolate with a series of wild strikes but Chocolate uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hiko enables Chocolate to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hiko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hiko wants to sweep here but Chocolate controlling him for the moment.
Chocolate stands and throws Hiko's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hiko is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Chocolate off. It looks like it's working - Chocolate slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Hiko displaying calm under pressure there.

Hiko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chocolate.

Chocolate throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hiko is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Hiko takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Chocolate throws an overhand right that lands on Hiko's shoulder, as Hiko tries to avoid the shot.
Hiko throws a shot from downtown. Chocolate moves away and avoids it.

Chocolate shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hiko napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Chocolate wants to control but Hiko is keeping him busy.
Hiko tries to bench press Chocolate off him but Chocolate keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hiko tries to buck Chocolate off but Chocolate is having none of it.
Chocolate is looking to take a break and control but Hiko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Chocolate working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Chocolate tries to advance to mount but Hiko denies him.
Hiko wants to control but Chocolate postures up.
Check out the look on Chocolate's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Chocolate prevents Hiko from escaping the position.
Hiko is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chocolate connects with a decent elbow.


Hiko is rocked!
Chocolate scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hiko is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Chocolate can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chip Chocolate!
A less than humble Chip Chocolate misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
