Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gonzalo Savage (ranked 5449 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Jackson (ranked 2985 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gonzalo Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Jackson! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left and a right from Savage both land. Nice combination. Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Savage's guard. Savage is controlling Jackson's posture. Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but Savage gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jackson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Savage seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Savage is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Savage preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson keeping full guard, as Savage tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Savage controls the pace. Jackson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jackson controls Savage momentarily but Savage frees himself. Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Savage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Savage lands a couple of elbows. Savage passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Jackson wants to control but Savage is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jackson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Savage haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson manages to get to full guard.

Savage lands a couple of digs. Savage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground. Jackson trying to control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Savage postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Savage working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jackson's head. Savage with a nice head shot there. Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Savage has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage stands up over Jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Savage lands a couple of decent looking shots. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Savage can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Savage seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Savage lands a couple of decent looking shots. Savage is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Savage trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Savage defends well. Savage is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Savage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Jackson working a defensive guard here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Savage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jackson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savage, into his guard. Jackson wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gonzalo Savage dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jackson connects with a body shot that sends Savage's belly button to the back. Jackson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jackson thows a huge punch but Savage dodges it nicely.
Jackson wants to control but Savage is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson decides to stand and escape the position. Jackson drives through with a takedown into guard. Savage pushes Jackson off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Savage has his hands clasped together around Jackson's back. He's all about the action. Savage is defending against the submission attempts here by Jackson.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Savage keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Jackson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Savage looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jackson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Savage's guard. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Savage keeps working. Jackson is looking to advance position but Savage won't allow it. Jackson trying to control from half guard but Savage is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Jackson has his foot on Savage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Savage works his way back into a safe position though. Savage lands a couple of elbows. Savage tries to stand but Jackson is controlling from the bottom. Jackson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Savage trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Savage stops Jackson from standing up. Jackson wants to sweep here but Savage controlling him for the moment. Jackson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Savage sitting in guard, not really doing much. Savage working some strikes from top position. Savage won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet. Savage postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Savage trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson is trying to control the position but Savage postures up. Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Savage sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Savage bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jackson thows a leg kick but Savage checks it and Savage counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard. Savage distracts Jackson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Savage would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Jackson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Savage stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position. Savage chips away with some ground and pound. Savage slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Savage seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jackson for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage throwing strikes but missing. Savage throws a big elbow that misses. Jackson working for a triangle but Savage defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Savage is one step ahead there. Savage lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Savage decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get! Savage goes for a double leg but Jackson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jackson continues to drive forward. Savage moves into range and clinches up with Jackson. Savage misses with the head strike.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson pulls guard. Savage preventing the sweep. Savage works over Jackson with some ground and pound from guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Gonzalo Savage showed his dominance in that final round. I think Savage has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
