Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Laurence Paul (ranked 4112 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blue Cult (ranked 3519 p4p, 0 weight class). Blue Cult will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Laurence Paul! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Blue Cult! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cult lands a nice shot that snaps Paul's head back.
Paul has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cult darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Paul looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Cult throws a body punch but Paul moves out of range. Cult gets tackled into the cage by Paul. Paul maintains the clinch. Paul's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cult scores with a jab. Cult lands an overhand right. Paul throws a jab when Cult was well out of range. Paul moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cult listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Cult jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cult throws out a powerful jab. Cult is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Cult throws a shot from downtown. Paul moves away and avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cult scores with a hook to the body. Paul takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Paul goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Blue Cult has been cut. Blue Cult seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cult gets tackled into the cage by Paul. Paul maintains the clinch. Paul's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nice shot by Cult. Paul keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cult. Paul moves into the clinch. Paul lands a knee to the head.
Paul turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Paul manages to end up in side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cult looks to move to half guard but instead Paul has passed into mount! Damn! Paul trying to control but Cult is having none of it.

Cult sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Paul controlling the action here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Paul is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Paul is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Cult! Cult tries to hold on but Paul postures up. Paul looking to control but Cult is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Cult really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Paul wants to control the pace but Cult is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Laurence Paul will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Blue Cult's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cult wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Cult misses with a shot to the body and Paul counters by moving into the clinch. Paul escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cult throws a lazy right hand but Paul sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. The fighters circle momentarily. Cult darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Paul looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cult lands a glancing blow to the side of Paul's head. Cult ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Cult cracks Paul with a good jab. A jab from Cult finds it's way through Paul's defenses. Paul gets the takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cult is trying to escape the position but Paul is controlling the position. Laurence Paul overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cult tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Paul easily slips into full mount! Paul looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Paul working for a submission but Cult is keeping him at bay. Paul content just to control the position here. Paul lands a couple of good shots and Cult has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Paul slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Paul's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cult tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Paul landing strikes from the mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Paul cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Paul looking to control but Cult is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Paul scoring with strikes but Cult is staying in there. Paul prevents Cult from getting the reversal. Cult manages to regain half guard. Good work. Cult is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Paul lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Paul is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cult doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Paul. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cult wants to improve his position but Paul is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cult has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Uh oh, big trouble for Cult! Paul is rotating here... this could be the end... Cult is out! Paul has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
