The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Westermann takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Westermann has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. McBotterson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Westermann sprawling to the canvas! Westermann rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can McBotterson finish him?!
It looks like Jack Westermann has been cut. McBotterson connects with a solid leg kick. McBotterson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. McBotterson lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Westermann falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sparry McBotterson! Sparry McBotterson took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, Reaper Combatwear for their support in the buildup to the fight.
