1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gumby Thirdleg! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Briedis. Thirdleg on the wrong end of a nice jab. Thirdleg showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Briedis.
Thirdleg tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Thirdleg bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Thirdleg tries for a kimura but Briedis is defending well. Thirdleg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Briedis keeps working. Thirdleg is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Briedis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thirdleg is looking to take a break and control but Briedis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Briedis can't do much from the bottom here.

Thirdleg wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Briedis, who protects the arm well. Briedis has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Briedis can't do much from the bottom here. Briedis tries to improve position but can't. Thirdleg tries for a kimura but Briedis is defending well. Thirdleg wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Briedis, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Briedis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Thirdleg is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Thirdleg hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
