The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazimagomedov moves into the clinch.
Souza wants to take the fight to the mat but Gazimagomedov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Souza has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gazimagomedov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Gazimagomedov drops Souza with a right and a left! Gazimagomedov comes rushing in but Souza regains his composure and manages to keep Gazimagomedov in guard.

Gazimagomedov gets to his feet and stands over Souza, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Souza felt that one! Gazimagomedov unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Souza from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jamal Gazimagomedov!
