Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johny Boom (ranked 4364 p4p, 426 weight class) and Kron Gracie (ranked 1228 p4p, 151 weight class). Gracie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ROYCE GRACIE. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johny Boom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kron Gracie! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie throws a body punch but Boom moves out of range. Boom has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blanc Fitness Academy in the buildup to the fight. Boom tries to clinch up but Gracie circles away and keeps his distance. Gracie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Boom tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Boom shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gracie defends it nicely. Boom fails in his attempt to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Left hook, right uppercut from Boom.
It looks like Kron Gracie has been cut. Boom tries to sprawl but Gracie drives through with a takedown into half guard. Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boom is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold. Gracie working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Boom's thigh. Boom counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Boom, who protects the arm well. Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boom has escaped the position, nice work there. Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boom is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boom is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control. Boom is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it. Boom tries to escape but Gracie is in control. Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Boom is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boom knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

He's worked his way up against the cage but Gracie has just dragged him back down to the mat. Boom is looking to reverse the position. Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Boom tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gracie tries for a kimura but Boom is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boom has escaped the position, nice work there. Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Boom, who protects the arm well. Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boom is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gracie's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Boom has managed to free his arm - good work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Boom is defending well. Boom has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kron Gracie dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kron Gracie's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Boom is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gracie misses with an uppercut. Boom avoids the body shot from Gracie.
Boom throws a big counter combination but Gracie scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boom moves away. Boom shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gracie defends it nicely. Gracie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.

Boom tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Gracie is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Boom is in real trouble.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boom trying to control the position but Gracie manages to sink in the hooks. You can see the frustration on Boom's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Both fighters are looking very determined. You can see the frustration on Boom's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Boom is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gracie sees it coming and defends easily. Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. Kron Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Kron Gracie's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Boom has a takedown stuffed. Gracie is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Boom rather than just go for the knockout. Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boom swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie advances to half guard. Gracie is looking to advance position but Boom won't allow it. Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boom is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom kicks off Gracie and gets to his feet. Johny Boom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Boom shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Boom moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off. Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boom moves away. Boom tries to counter with a takedown but Gracie is quick to defend against it. Boom fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gracie doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johny Boom. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie uses his free foot to push down on Boom's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Boom. Gracie seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Boom is holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boom sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Gracie trying to pass the guard but Boom defending well. Boom trying to control but Gracie postures up.
Boom tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg. Boom pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie keeps trying to improve his position. Boom is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard. Gracie is pressing down on Boom's thigh, looking to free his foot. Boom is holding on for now. Boom flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Boom defends it. Boom is pressing down on Gracie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Boom is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Boom is keeping the position. Boom is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up. Kron Gracie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Boom gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Boom working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Boom from controlling successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gracie controlling Boom's posture. Johny Boom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boom throws an elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Boom's guard. Nice move by Gracie!
And that's the end of the fight! Kron Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
