The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James moves into the clinch.
Martinyuk lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of James backwards.
James is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Martinyuk is defending well.
Martinyuk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
James clinches up with Martinyuk and pushes him back against the ropes.
James is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Martinyuk pulls him back up using the underhooks.

James goes for a takedown in the clinch but Martinyuk prevents it.

James is pushing down on Martinyuk's leg trying to pass to half guard. Martinyuk is fighting to maintain full guard but James has managed to sneak the leg through.

James is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martinyuk is just riding it out for now. James eventually gives up the hold.

and Martinyuk counters with a monster head kick that knocks James out cold! He topples like fallen a tree, crashing to the mat! Timbeeeeeerrr!

After the fight, Leonid Martinyuk was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
