Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Bond (ranked 23761 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ajdin Bapic (ranked 4653 p4p, 439 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rusty Bond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ajdin Bapic!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bond tries to clinch there but Bapic circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bond looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Bapic gets tackled into the cage by Bond. Bond maintains the clinch.
Bond fails to pull guard.
Bond drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Bond jumps guard and drags Bapic to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Bapic stands up over Bond, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bond throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bapic uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bapic cracks Bond with a big right hand but Bond just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Bapic is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bond knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bond takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Bapic takes a little break here. Bond wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bond tries to escape but Bapic is in control.
Bond can't do much from the bottom here.
Bond is trying to buck Bapic off.
You can see the frustration on Bond's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bond wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Bapic is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bond is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bapic is staying tight to Bond's torso, preventing him from escaping.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Bapic looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bond tries to escape but Bapic is in control.

Let's hope that Bapic has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bapic lands a nice forearm strike.
Bond bucks up and tries to throw Bapic off but instead Bapic has got his back!

Bond is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
Bond misses with a double jab

and Bapic counters by moving into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Bapic has picked Bond up - he's going for a ride! Bapic dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Bond manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bapic keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Come on Bapic - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Bond working hard to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ajdin Bapic dominated that round.
That's time! Bond's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bapic keeps the fight on the outside.
Bapic lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bond enables Bapic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bond manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bapic engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bond is looking to stand up but Bapic isn't so interested in that idea.

Bond wants to get back to his feet but Bapic is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bond thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Bapic connects with a couple of short punches.
Bond will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bapic won't allow Bond to get back to his feet.

Bond keeping moving, preventing Bapic from controlling successfully.

Bond is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bapic drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bond manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bapic has Bond in his guard.

Bapic seems keen to control Bond's posture.
Bond preventing the sweep.
Ajdin Bapic has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bond wants to stand but Bapic has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bapic wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bapic pulls Bond in close to prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ajdin Bapic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bond pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bapic feints the counter takedown.
Bapic throws a right hand that Bond ducks under and follows up with a left that Bond also avoids with ease.
Bapic is breathing heavily.
Bapic fails with a takedown attempt.

Bond blocks the body kick.
Bapic tries to clinch up.
Bond throws a wild body kick that Bapic sees coming a mile off.

Bond has Bapic up against the cage in a clinch.

Bond decides to pull guard.
Bapic wants to stand but Bond is controlling his posture from full guard.

Bond has an active guard here but Bapic has managed to pass into half guard.
Bond really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bond is controlling Bapic's trapped leg to prevent Bapic from advancing to side control.
Bapic takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bond is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bapic's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bapic's back!
Bond misses with a punch to the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bond punches the canvas rather than the man.
Bapic trying to survive by controlling the hands.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Bapic looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bond tries to kick Bapic off but Bapic keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bapic is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bond sees it coming and defends easily.

Bond trying to get back to full guard but Bapic takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Bond tries to hold on but Bapic pushes him away.

Bond slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bond tries to kick Bapic off but Bapic keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bapic seems to be working for a kimura but Bond defends the submission attempt.
Bapic trying to control from half guard but Bond is working away.

Bapic lands with a punch from half guard.
Bond wants to control but Bapic is keeping busy.
Bapic tries to pass to full mount but Bond defends it.
Ground and pound from Bapic.
Bapic working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bapic is looking to advance position but Bond won't allow it.
Bond makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bond.
Bapic stops Bond from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bapic trying to control but Bond is working from the bottom.
Bond is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bapic's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Rusty Bond is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bapic crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bond - the referee stops the clock and Bapic gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bond. Bapic manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Bond throws a low kick but Bapic moves out of range easily.
Rusty Bond is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bond throws a nice head kick!
Bond tries a head kick but it misses.
Bond jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bond goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bapic dives in for a single leg takedown but Bond sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bond tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bapic moves into the clinch.
Bapic gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bond.
A short right from Bapic on the inside.
Bapic avoiding damage.
Bond wants a takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bapic is trying to trip Bond. He has hold of a leg but Bond is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Bapic persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bapic is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bapic won't allow Bond to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ajdin Bapic comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bapic has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
