Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tandi House! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ayuh Mundur! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! House scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mundur tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. House is looking to take a break and control but Mundur is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mundur is positioning himself to get back to half guard. House is staying tight to Mundur's torso, preventing him from escaping. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. House wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mundur keeps working. Mundur is looking to regain half guard here but House keeps moving and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. House controlling the position. House wants to control but Mundur is keeping him busy. Mundur is looking to reverse the position. House wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mundur keeps working. House controls the position. House knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mundur on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mundur tries to improve position but can't. House trying to control the action but Mundur is working from the bottom. Mundur on the wrong end of some ground and pound. House wants to control but Mundur is keeping him busy. Mundur tries to bench press House off him but House keeps the position. House wants to control but Mundur is keeping him busy. Mundur tries to improve position but can't. Mundur is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Mundur is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mundur won't allow House to pass to mount. Mundur gets full guard. House connects with a couple of short punches. House is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. House wants to control from the top but Mundur keeps moving. House looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Mundur is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's four minutes gone in the round. House works his way to full guard. Good work. Mundur stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. House swivels though and keeps the full guard. House working a defensive guard here.
Mundur drops back, looking for a kneebar! House looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. House looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from House!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mundur is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tandi House dominated that round. That's time! House's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Mundur is trying to force a seperation but House has the dominant position. House gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mundur.
House turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and House manages to end up in side control. House remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. We've been informed that Mundur has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. House connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mundur some visible discomfort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mundur is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked House off and has taken his back! Tandi House overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mundur is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. House knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften House for a finish. Mundur gets his hands free as House looks to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on House's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Mundur is cranking House's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for House! He's tightened the choke and House is tapping out!
